The Glam Show, a women’s fashion exhibition taking place later this year, is forming a promotional partnership with Breast Cancer Campaign. The joint campaign is aimed at raising funds for the charity and raising breast cancer awareness among young women.
Promotional activity in the run-up to the Glam Show will be managed by marketing and PR company Hot Sauce productions. The campaign will include television and magazine adverts and competitions, as well as an online Facebook and MySpace presence promoting the show and the charity. There will be a targeted e-newsletter branded with the charity’s tagline, “Wear it pink”, and the charity will receive free publicity through leafleting prior to the show. The Glam Show website will also link through to a donation page on Breast Cancer Campaign’s website. The show hopes to sell 100 “VIP” tickets at £1,000, from each of which a donation of £150 will be made to the Breast Cancer Campaign.
The exhibition will open at Earl’s Court in October, which is also Breast Cancer Awareness month. The charity will have an exhibition stand at the two-day show, and fundraising events and competitions, including charity treasure hunts, will take place.
Hot Sauce productions PR and marketing director Cindy Ryan says it was important for the show to work with a charity that strongly represented women: “In the UK, breast cancer is the most common cancer amongst women,” she says. “The Glam Show is a platform to celebrate and highlight what is important to women, so it is very important to us to bring a charity on board that is working diligently to provide research to help with such a prevalent disease.”
Breast Cancer Campaign’s events manager Elizabeth Cook says: “We are delighted to be a part of The Glam Show 2009. The show is the perfect day out for women and the funds raised by the event will enable us to continue our work researching the cure for breast cancer.”
