T-Mobile UK appoints new chief marketing officer

24 April 2009

T-Mobile UK has appointed Srini Gopalan as chief marketing officer. He will be responsible for boosting revenue in customer relationship management, loyalty and retention, brand development and marketing communications.

Gopalan joins T-Mobile from Capital One Bank (Europe), where he was managing director. Before his appointment as MD, he was head of marketing and analysis at Capital One, responsible for risk management and customer relationship management strategies.

T-Mobile’s recent advertising campaign has attracted more than 10.5m views on YouTube. The adverts are based around the brand slogan “Life’s for Sharing” and feature 350 dancers in Liverpool Street station in London.

“I’m excited about capitalising on the momentum generated by the iconic ‘Life’s for Sharing’ campaign,” says Gopalan. “I’m keen to bring my experience of customer insight and management to such a dynamic sector.”

Before joining Capital One, Srini spent four years as a consultant with management consultancy Accenture. He takes up his position at T-Mobile in June.
