Business services company Steria has announced the appointment of a new marketing director David Cotterill. Reporting directly to Steria UK and India CEO John Torrie, Cotterill will be responsible for all marketing and communication in the UK.
With more than 20 years of experience in IT marketing, sales and business development, Cotterill has managed brand campaigns, public relations and proposition development for technology companies including Cambridge Technology Partners, Compaq and Canadian IT services firm, CGI. Prior to joining Steria, Cotterill was European marketing director at IT company Cognizant.
Having worked for the most part in the private sector, Cotterill is looking forward to Steria’s diversity of clients: “Steria has a wealth of blue-chip clients, both private and public sector,” he says. “We are looking to combine onsite and offshore delivery with business process outsourcing, IT solutions and infrastructure services. We’re confident that this approach is perfect for the current economic situation. Our aim will be to strongly reinforce the Steria brand, while offering our customers the best service and value possible.”
Torrie says he was looking for a candidate that strong background in IT service marketing and consulting: “Cotterill’s IT marketing experience made him an ideal candidate for the role. The knowledge he brings will be a vital addition to our marketing team as we look to strengthen Steria’s brand awareness and understanding in the UK market and beyond.”
