Brand communication agency Sass has appointed Craig Cleaver to the new role of digital account director. Cleaver will be in charge of client-side digital marketing. He will be responsible for boosting pay-per-click business, SEO rankings and link building for Sass’s existing clients, as well as attracting new business.
Cleaver comes to Sass from digital agency BLM Quantum where he was account director for MBNA, the European division of Bank of America. “I left BLN Quantum because there wasn’t a job for me there anymore. I was working on the MBNA account and unfortunately we lost the account when MBNA took it in house,” he says.
Cleaver has nine years’ experience in digital marketing. “I was attracted to this role because my background is in retail and Sass has many clients in that area, such as Venture Portraits, Collection 2000 and the Gift Experience,” he says. Asked about new clients, Cleaver mentions the BBC as an organisation that Sass is currently working with but declines to give details.
“Ultimately, I’ve always wanted to improve my marketing knowledge while working with an integrated agency that operates online as well as offline. And the client list was a draw,” Cleaver says.
Sass’ managing director, Ian Waddington, says: “Cleaver’s appointment acknowledges that the digital realm is taking centre stage in brand communications, and demonstrates that Sass is committed to offering clients a unique approach to digital solutions, via technical and brand communications expertise.”
