Whitegoods manufacturer Indesit has appointed David Sleight as category manager in its product marketing team. Sleight will be in charge of Indesit’s Hotpoint brand.
Sleight moves to Indesit from household cleaning products company Jeyes. He will be reporting to Susannah Holloway, brand director of Hotpoint. Sleight’s main responsibilities will include developing new product ranges and working towards an increase in market share for Hotpoint.
Sleight’s previous role at Jeyes involved managing brand plans, launching products and working with experts in chemistry, production and packaging to implement strategies in terms of cost, manufacturing process and product delivery.
“I will be working closely with the brand team to develop product ranges that meet the needs of the UK consumer are in-line with the brand positioning,” says Sleight. “Ultimately, I’ll be looking to increase Hotpoint’s market share over the next 12 months.”
Indesit UK marketing director James Goldsmith says: “We have every confidence that Sleight’s expertise and experience will play an integral role in further strengthening the brand.”
