Financial services firm GE Capital has appointed Markus Clavin as chief UK marketing officer.
The announcement follows GE’s reorganisation earlier this year under the GE Capital brand, which led to the appointment of six new senior level positions to manage asset-based lending, fleet and equipment financing operations.
Clavin has been with GE for almost four years. He was previously chief marketing officer for GE Corporate Finance Bank and Business Finance UK. Before joining GE, Clavin worked as head of strategic marketing at the Department of Trade and Industry’s Small Business Service and Clearlybusiness, a joint venture between Freeserve and Barclays Bank.
Reporting directly to GE Capital UK CEO John Jenkins , Clavin will be responsible for the strategic direction of the company and improving performance within his teams.
Clavin’s appointment should help boost confidence in the brand, says Jenkins: “During this period of economic turmoil we need to focus on redefining values while providing commitment to our customers and UK businesses when they need it the most.”
