Ex-Nike manager joins Open Soho as lead account handler

26 February 2009

Agency Open Soho has brought in ex-Nike marketing manager Graham Anderson as lead account handler.

Open Soho have previously compiled adverts for Fiat, Mars, NHS and Virgin Direct.

Anderson was with Nike for seven years, where he was involved in events and sponsorship, such as running the 1998 World Cup press office and signing sponsorship deals with Arsenal and Rangers. He moved into sports event management in 2003 and founded the sports PR department at Burson-Marsteller, the world's biggest PR agency, working with a number of major brands and their sport sponsorships - amongst them Littlewoods and the FA Cup.

"He's goalkeeper turned goal-scorer - he knows both sides of the advertising coin, but at a far higher level than most," says Open Soho’s director Simon Impey.

Anderson is likely to be working on a broad portfolio of accounts. "We are developing two parallel tracks of expertise: sexy lifestyle-changing ads, and effective social responsibility campaigns, including one of the highest direct response campaigns ever seen for the NHS.”

"I can't wait for kick off,” says Anderson. The Open guys are in attack mode and that suits me. I only knock about with winners."

Open Soho is part of All About Brands plc (AAB plc), the brands and marketing services group.
