No place like home

Marketers have been busy devising incentives for people to rent out various aspects of their lives for advertising purposes. The latest effort comes from California based Adzookie, which has launched a bid to turn homes into advertising billboards. The company will pay the owner’s mortgage for as long as the home remains painted with adverts. To be eligible, homes must be owned by the customer, not rented or leased. According to a CNN report, Adzookie received more than 1,000 applications on the first day of its launch. This follows similar efforts including Singapore’s GottaGetGas, which rewards consumers with petrol for displaying advertising on their car, and India’s CASHurDrive, which provides car owners with cash or petrol vouchers.
