Environmentalism and congestion are driving us from cars to cycles, and functional cyclists’ fashion is set to take a lead position. Companies such as Outlier have produced weatherproof multi-purpose cycling pants, while M&S has recently launched its rainproof “repellent” menswear in the UK. Levi’s has gone a lap further with its Commuting Cycling Series – menswear incorporating reflective detailing, waistbands designed for U-lock storage and a higher cut for better rear-coverage in the saddle.
