CIM consults members

More than 1,000 members across all membership grades want the Institute to be seen as the leading and largest professional organisation for marketing, according to the results of a consultation with members of CIM.

Institute chairman Chris Lenton initiated the consultation to help determine CIM’s long-term aspirations for the next decade.
While raising awareness of membership designations and qualifications was important to all members, differences between age groups and membership grades on certain issues also emerged.

Members aged between 25 and 40 say they want the Institute to prioritise work on career development and raising the profile of its professional accreditations, while members aged over 41 feel that CIM should focus on representing the profession as a whole.

Members in the UK also want the The Chartered Institute of Marketing to provide more digital marketing insight and development opportunities, while CIM members outside the UK are keen for the Institute to focus more on developing international markets.
