The Institute’s marketers invest years of study and continuing professional development into building their knowledge and skills; the CIM is investing in providing leadership and support to marketers at all levels, of all geographies and in all forms of organisation – the future looks bright
In 1998 The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) was granted the authority to award Chartered Marketer status by the Queen’s Privy Council. CIM remains the only organisation able to award this status in recognition of professional excellence and has awarded 687 of its members with Chartered Marketer status this year.
All of these individuals have achieved the award through the accrual of continuing professional development (CPD) hours as part of CIM’s Chartered CPD Programme.
The following pages hold the names of a growing number of dedicated, forward‑thinking marketers, each of whom has invested time and energy to ensure that they are contemporary, relevant and professional marketing practitioners, attaining postgraduate qualifications or Chartered Marketer status.
Each member listed here has taken personal responsibility for their development, substantiating their academic underpinning and professional experience with a multi‑year investment in building knowledge and skills to help both themselves and their businesses to succeed.
To the 687 newly appointed Chartered Marketers, part of a family of 5,587, our congratulations. To our 12,092 members currently in pursuit of this goal through our Chartered CPD Programme, we look forward to celebrating your achievements and successes in future editions.
The future
Approaching 2011, CIM’s centenary year, we’re not just thinking about the past 100 years – we’re building for the future.
We’ve just conducted the first International Marketing Development Survey, a comprehensive review of continuing professional development, Chartered Marketer status and the support and leadership we provide to professionals like you. More than 5,000 marketers took part, helping CIM to reassess how to support members and truly establish marketing as a recognised professional discipline.
In early October we joined forces with the American Marketing Association, the Australian Marketing Institute and Hays Specialist Recruitment to explore a range of issues pertinent to professional marketers. These are:
Our commitment to providing ongoing leadership and support to marketers at all levels, of all geographies and in all forms of organisation has never been stronger.
Next year’s centenary isn’t just a milestone, it marks a new phase for our Institute, one that offers an unparalleled focus and dedication to ensuring that the marketing profession, and all its constituents, are recognised as core, strategic assets in all forms of organisation.
